Daksha Bhat established Silversmile Eldercare Foundation in 2014. Her two point agenda is to increase awareness about dementia and to provide support to the elderly who have dementia and their caregivers. Under the banner of Varishta, she is developing initiatives to contribute to a discourse on the incidence, prevalence, diagnosis and management of dementia in the elderly, and is setting up assessment, training and care centres.
Prior to setting up the foundation Daksha was Director IT and Systems Research with TAM Media Research India Pvt Ltd. in charge of the IT administration, software, research and purchase. She previously set up and headed TAM’s international advertisement theme coding division. Prior to joining TAM she worked with ICFAI and headed their case development team. She has also headed the first PR monitoring unit in India while working for Nielsen.
With a wide range of experience in setting up and handling end to end projects Daksha brings an ability to design efficient business processes and implement them to bring about quality outcomes. She is interested in organisational behaviour, quality, and innovation.
Daksha holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. She is a life member of The All India Management Association, ARDSI, (Alzheimer’s & Related Diseases Society of India), a patron of the Indian Red Cross Society and a Rotarian.
Married to Gopalakrishna Bhat who is a scientist, she has two children, who have flown the nest. An avid reader, her interests span from fiction to behavioural & management science literature. She also paints and tries her hand at other crafts whenever she has free time.
